Customized Fishing Instruction for Every Skill Level

Every on water training session is tailored to your goals. Beginners can learn the fundamentals of saltwater fishing, including equipment setup, knot tying, casting techniques, bait selection, and fish handling. Intermediate and advanced anglers can focus on reading tides, locating structure, refining presentations, improving boat positioning, and targeting specific species common to the Myrtle Beach area.

Training takes place in real fishing conditions along the Grand Strand, including Little River, Cherry Grove, and surrounding coastal waters. This ensures you are learning techniques that apply directly to local fisheries and seasonal patterns.

Our goal is simple. Equip you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to fish successfully on your own long after the trip ends.

What You’ll Learn in On-Water Training

Our comprehensive training sessions cover a wide range of essential fishing techniques and strategies:

Proper Casting Techniques
Accurate casting is essential for consistent success in Myrtle Beach inshore and nearshore fishing. Learn how to improve distance, accuracy, and presentation in various scenarios, from targeting redfish along marsh edges to casting around docks, oyster beds, and structure.

Rigging
Master the fundamentals of properly rigging your gear for local saltwater species. From selecting the right bait and lures to tying reliable knots and building effective leader setups, you will learn how to rig with confidence for changing conditions.

Identifying Fish-Holding Targets
Successful anglers know how to read the water. Learn how to identify productive structure such as oyster bars, grass lines, creek mouths, drop offs, docks, and nearshore reefs that consistently hold fish along the Grand Strand.

Seasonal Movements
Gain insight into how redfish, flounder, trout, and other coastal species move throughout the year. Understanding seasonal patterns, water temperature shifts, and bait migration will help you anticipate where fish are likely to be during any season.

Proper Boat Positioning
Boat control plays a critical role in fishing success. Learn how to position your vessel for optimal casting angles, current flow, and stealth when targeting fish in shallow marshes or deeper inlets.

Operating in Rough Water
Build confidence handling a boat in less than ideal conditions. Training includes safe and effective operation techniques for navigating wind, chop, and tidal movement common in coastal North Carolina and Myrtle Beach waters.

Using Sonar, GPS, and Side Imaging
Modern fishing technology is a powerful tool when used correctly. Learn how to interpret sonar readings, side imaging, and GPS mapping to locate structure, identify bait schools, and develop a strategic plan on the water.

Fishing with Current
Current is one of the most important factors in saltwater fishing. Understand how tides and moving water influence fish behavior and learn how to position your boat and present baits effectively in flowing water.

Breaking Down New Water
Whether fishing locally or exploring a new area, knowing how to quickly analyze unfamiliar water is a game changer. Learn a systematic approach to locating productive zones, identifying high percentage structure, and eliminating unproductive water efficiently.
